I only just noticed this message, sorry, but here goes:

I brought up the SASL issue on this list roughly two months ago, and I
suggested group maintenance using Alioth. My first priority was to find
and contact people with an interest in SASL, and I now have a
preliminary list. The second priority was to create the project on
Alioth, and I've finished that task as well.

However, the third priority, cleaning up my work so far and committing
it into Alioth svn, has been delayed because of Real Life (tm) work and
other Debian tasks. So I didn't announce anything yet.

But I shouldn't hold up other people from working if there is interest
to do so now. Here's the Alioth home page:
http://pkg-cyrus-sasl2.alioth.debian.org/
Mail me your Alioth user ids and I'll add you to the project.

My current work load should ease at the end of this week, and I'll try
to get the work I have into svn after that.

I propose to continue this discussion on the pkg-cyrus-sasl2 mailing
list. Subscribe using the instructions on the home page (the url above).
