True. We know the documentation is abit out of date, but unfortunately
noone in the packaging team has so far been able to find the time and
check/update the documentation. Any help would be appreciated.

As for this bug: This the entry quoted above is misleading and, as you
correctly guessed, actually referring to the 2.1 packages, I removed it
in SVN. The fixed documentation will be included in the next upload.
