I don't think we will be applying the autocreate patches at this time, but
you can file a wishlist bug against cyrus-imapd-2.2.

Anyway, please review the info-cyrus mailinglist archives for the reasons
the patch wasn't included upstream yet. They're the reasons we didn't
either, although we might change our minds and do so in the future.

Since this patch is quite popular, I suppose we could maintain it and ship
with it disabled in Debian, but ready to be enabled in private builds.
Unfortunately, I can't promise to maintain that patch right now so it
depends on the other cyrus co-maintainers deciding that it is a good idea to
have it around.

The official package repository and development mailinglists are open for
anyone to read (and in the case of the mailinglist, you can post if you
subscribe to it). Look for the pkg-cyrus-imapd project in
alioth.debian.org.

You'd have to get the most up-to-date autocreate patches for 2.2 from
http://email.uoa.gr/projects/cyrus/autocreate/ and dump it on
debian/patches (in the unpacked source), end edit debian/patches/00list to
enable it. Note that I make no guarantees the patch won't clash with the
other patches Debian applies.

Look for the apt-src package to help you take care of your own patched
version of a Debian source package.
