Now that I have some time to think about it:
1) The fact that the cyrus21 init script is left behind on removal is
intended (and demanded by policy), we can't just remove it on upgrade
to cyrus-2.2.
2) The fix is to simply purge the cyrus21-common (I think it is in
-common, no?) package. All /etc/cyrus.conf and /etc/imapd.conf are
should be owned by the -2.2 package. Do dpkg -S like astronut
suggested to be sure.
3) HMH: Yes, the 2.2 package also includes the hardwired config at
/usr/lib/cyrus/cyrus-hardwired-config.txt, so grepping there for
the installed version should work OK.
