Package: cyrus-doc-2.2
Version: 2.2.13-10
Severity: minor

I had problems upgrading a cyrus imapd installation.
It was initially created on debian woody, then ran
on debian sarge.
Since etch does not include cyrus 1.x any more, I've upgraded.

I've upgraded a cyrus imapd installation initially created on
debian woody to etch.

Old cyrus Version was 1.5.19-20+sarge1 (from sarge)
New cyrus Version is cyrus-imapd-2.2 2.2.13-10 (from testing)

1. In /usr/share/doc/cyrus-doc-2.2/UPGRADE.Debian.gz:
/usr/bin/db4.2_upgrade is not installed by default,
the package db4.2-util needs to be installed.

2. In /usr/share/doc/cyrus-common-2.2/README.Debian.database:
The *.seen files are in /var/spool/cyrus, not in
   /var/lib/cyrus

3. In /usr/share/doc/cyrus-common-2.2/README.Debian.database:
The *.seen files in my installation were in SKIPLIST format,
not in "db3" fromat as /usr/lib/cyrus/cyrus-db-types.active
claimed. Maybe this is because I've initially installed on
woody and woody packages might have used skiplist while
sarge might have used db3, I don't know.
But in any case the files I had were not in db3 format.

4. In /usr/share/doc/cyrus-common-2.2/README.Debian.database:
Section 2.1: cvt_cyrusdb does not support the db3 format any more

   Supported Databases:
cyrus at work:/$ /usr/sbin/cvt_cyrusdb
Usage: /usr/sbin/cvt_cyrusdb [-C altconfig] <old db> <old db backend>
<new db> <new db backend>
Usable Backends: berkeley, berkeley-nosync, berkeley-hash,
berkeley-hash-nosync, flat, skiplist, quotalegacy

Thank you for maintaining a gread piece of Software.

Bernd Herd
