That was actually the first thing I looked for ... even tried to figure out how 
to increase debugging levels, but that didn't seem to provide anything either :(

BTW, as a reference point, I'm setting up Debian GNU/kFreeBSD running under 
FreeBSD 6.2 using jail ... if it would help anyone with packages and whatnot, 
I'd be willing to setup one and give shell access to pkg maintainers to test 
things on ...
