I believe that. However, the reality is not covered by IANA in that
case.

Well, just allocate the port to two applications would help. But I do
not know if that is possible.

It is easy for my small world to do that but very hard to force the rest
of the world to do the same!

This has to be cried out as the problem will tangent DAUs (I do not know
the abbreviation for that in english).

True. All installations I know about use port 2000 for sive. However not
only cyrus is using sieve than also dovecot.
