Seconded. The main and expected use of cyrus-imap is to be a spooler. The
recommends should stay.
The test clients are very useful, and I do have them installed without the
rest of cyrus-imap on several systems. Keeping the recommended packages you
don't want away is painless on any proper interactive package manager (i.e.
aptitude). This has been true for many years, at least since Debian Sarge.
