[Pkg-d-devel] dsss and libtango packages

Hi,

I'm Vincenzo Ampolo a software engineer student in italy at Politecnico di 
Milano.
I've been working on D programming languages from a year and i packaged dsss 
and i'm packaging libtango. Today i spoke in #ubuntu-motu channel at 
irc.ubuntu.com and Emmet Hikory <persia at ubuntu.com> said that this group was 
creating to package D programs in ubuntu/debian world
I think i can help reaching this goal.

My first D package is dsss that can be found at 
http://revu.ubuntuwire.com/details.py?package=dsss . It is waiting for 2 
reviews to be on Ubuntu universe repository.

In this package, i've found a way to integrate dsss build system with cdbs 
packaging. No makefiles are needed anymore, just a dsss.conf, which comes with 
source tarball, and a modified debian/rules that i wrote using cdbs.

Using this system, i was able to build dsss package and libtango as well. 
Using this system to package a D source is very easy: it just need to run 
dh_make with cdbs change the debian/rules to the one i did and do a little 
edit. Then edit files in /debian directory as well, and run debuild. Debuild 
will use dsss to build and install the package to $(DESTDIR)

If you accept it, i want to share this information with you and help you in 
bringing D packages in the debian/ubuntu word.

If there are ubuntu/debian developer/maintainer please review the dsss package 
at REVU, so it can be in ubuntu and then in debian as well.
