Package: db3
Version: 3.2.9-20
Severity: important

Hi,

the debian/rules sets LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.24 and then everything goes
to hell on amd64:

mrvn@frosties:~% LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.24 /bin/true
/bin/true: error while loading shared libraries: libc.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The glibc is not compiled with kernel 2.4 support and Debian-amd64
never had such a kernel.

Can you briefly explain why the option is needed or if it is save to
remove it on amd64? The changelog doesn't say when it was introduced
or why.

MfG
