What is new in DCPP 5.0:

In the last half year, computer manufacturers have started to equip PCs and
Notebooks with the modern EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) 64 bit BIOS.
Although some versions of these bioses still contain a "16 bit
compatibility mode" for installation of older operating systems, in many
cases Windows is now being supplied installed to start up directly from the
new EFI BIOS.
The new 64 bit PC EFI BIOS offers computer users and PC board manufacturers
Many advantages over the now obsolete 30 year old 16 bit BIOS, so for
instance it allows faster OS boot up/hibernate resume times, it allows
Windows 64 Bit Vista or Win7 to be installed on disks greater than 2
Terabytes, maby bugs have been resolved, provides a greater “flat”
memory footprint etc…The downside to a machine using EFI to boot the
operating system is, that any "pre-boot" software which needs to make use
of the BIOS facilities of old BIOS code is now completely incompatible with
new EFI bios.  This includes all full disk encryption software including
older versions of DCPP which needs to interact with the BIOS.
DCPP engine has therefore been completely redesigned internally, and DCPP 5
is now the first PC disk encryption solution on the market able to fully
support operating systems installed on modern EFI biosses! Of course it
still fully supports old bios code as well for use on older machines or
"legacy bios" installations on new machines.
DCPP 5.0 has also had several security enhancements to ensure that our
customers are protected against possible brute force attacks of multiple
networked computers co-operating in new cloud based environments running
for very many years.

Best regards
