I thought about this some more.  Obviously, Berkeley DB assumes that
if two keys compare equal, then one as good as the other.  I don't
know how thoroughly this assumption is built into Berkeley DB.  I
think this some something you need to raise with Oracle (and I'm not
sure if Debian will ever ship newer Berkeley DB versions due lack of
licensing clarity).
