[pkg-dhcp-devel] Bug#604883: dhcp3-client (squeeze) not sending hostname

Package: dhcp3-client
Version: 4.1.1-P1-15+squeeze2
Severity: normal

I have the following line in my /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf
send host-name "<hostname>";
This results in sending the hostname as '<hostname>'.

If I change the config to something like
send host-name "xyz";
then no hostname is sent (or maybe an empty one).

Both configurations worked as expected in Lenny.
I do *not* see a hostname '(none)' as the original poster reported.
I tested in Wheezy and get the same problem with isc-dhcp-client 4.1.1-P1-16
