I can now also confirm that this is fixed in 4.2.4-7.

I've backported 4.2.4-7 to Wheezy for us internally. No changes were
necessary. I just had to make sure that it's not built with -j8 since
that fails. (And trying to build the package made me aware of an issue
in my .quiltrc. :-)

I maybe persuaded to do an official backport for Debian if there's
demand -- and the original package maintainers don't object. I'll have
to follow testing for our installation anyway.
