After 5 years I'm afraid I completely forgot about this problem but 
looks like bug #100886 provides some kind of patch for code and also 
improvement of the man page. But yet again the bug was opened 14 years 
ago so who knows... 

Maybe using a different "expire" value for the template to avoid this 
from happening or adding a simple comment ("#") on the top of the 
"expire" entry so the user can be better aware of this.
