[Pkg-dkms-maint] Howto use dkms with virtualbox and nvidia

Hi,

dkms seems to be a very nice solution for out of the kernel modules. I 
would have a great use for virtualbox and nvidia kernel modules with 
extra deb packages. But how do I use it? Do I have do edit some .conf 
file or sould the maintainer of the package that provide the source (or 
wrappers) for the kernel modules provide integration into dkms like it 
is said in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=528758
