It seems like you're using Lenny -- the dkms package is only available in 
Squeeze and Unstable, sorry.

To confirm, you could post the contents of your /etc/apt/sources.list

This means that the package "dkms" is not available in your repository.

We're not (yet?) providing a backport for dkms, I'm sorry :(
