[Pkg-dkms-maint] Bug#613679: dkms_autoinstaller rebuilds the whole kernel

Package: dkms
Version: 2.1.1.2-5
Severity: normal
Hi everyone,
I build my kernels regularly from git checkouts, after which I call
make modules_install
make install
since some time the make install call kicks off some (somehow broken)
dkms calls. Broken in the sense that calling make install *rebuilds*
the *whole* kernel just for building a module. This is not to be expected.
I believe, from looking at the running processes, that the dkms_autoinstaller
which is run from /etc/kernel/postinst.d/dkms, calls the equivalent of
make clean in the kernel tree instead of the module tree, but that is
a wild guess.
It would be nice if that could be fixed, since it is a bit a pain.
Thanks and all the best
Norbert
