Hi. I notice you are involved in a Debian package using DKMS (listed
as maintainer or uploader), and this is the background for my email.

The dkms package in debian is team maintained, but the team do not
seem to be active any more. Are you aware of this? If not, perhaps
you would be interested in joining the team to make sure the dkms
package is kept in shape in Debian? I do not know dkms much myself,
and lack the capacity at the moment to do so myself, but believe the
package fill a vital role in supporting rare hardware and edge use
cases.

The package status can be found on
<URL: https://packages.qa.debian.org/d/dkms.html >. The last upload
was in 2014, and the package has accumulated quite a lot of bug reports.
The Ubuntu package have several patches that seem relevant and
interesting, and I've just NMU-ed dkms to add a autopkgtest script from
Ubuntu to allow the zfs related dkms packages to use it for their
autopkgtest scripts. The upload is delayed until tomorrow.

The team mailing list is available from
<URL: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-dkms-maint >,
the mailing list administrator is a bouncing email address and the
mailing list is currently accumulating several spam messages every
month. I hope someone can start moderating non-subscribers to block the
spam from the list, and hopefully take over the admin task for the list.

Cc to the team list, to let everyone aware of my proposal.

I found the addresses using

  apt showsrc $(apt-cache search dkms|cut -d" " -f1) | \
    egrep 'Maintainer:|Uploaders:'|cut -d: -f2-|tr "," "\n"|sort -u

and dropped team addresses and those already listed as uploaders for
dkms.
