Package: getdns-utils
Version: 1.1.0~a2-1
Severity: minor

Dear Maintainer,

I know that getdns_query is a demonstrator of getdns, and is not
intended to be a replacement for DNS clients like dig. Nevertheless, I
think that the error messages are really too poor to be usable:

Non-existing server, TLS:

% getdns_query  @192.0.2.1 -s  -l L www.bortzmeyer.org
An error occurred: 1 'Generic error'

All done.

Non-existing server, plain:

% getdns_query  @192.0.2.1 -s  www.bortzmeyer.org

SYNC response:
{
  "answer_type": GETDNS_NAMETYPE_DNS,
    "canonical_name": <bindata for www.bortzmeyer.org.>,
      "replies_full": [],
        "replies_tree": [],
	  "status": GETDNS_RESPSTATUS_ALL_TIMEOUT
	  }
	  Response code was: GOOD. Status was: All queries for the
	  name timed out

All done.
