this is now uploaded, but it's in NEW because upstream bumped the
SONAME.  I've pushed the debian packaging changes to the "experimental"
branch in git.  hopefully when the freeze is done, we can just
fast-forward the master branch to the same point and do a minor update
to build it for unstable.
