[Pkg-dns-devel] Package getdns outdated, no DNS over TLS support

Hi Debian Developers

The GetdnsAPI project made a log of progress in the last months, the current stable version of getdns is 1.2.1, the version in the debian package repository is 1.1.0~a2-2.

Getdns beginning from 1.1 contains [stubby][2], the first stable DNS-Stub-Resolver that support [DNS over TLS][3], RFC 7858, which was standardized by the IETF not long time ago. IETF supports the development of getdns.

Is it possible to update the package to the most current version for the next debian release or for the current releases too?
