hi all--
Ondřej, it looks to me like you've pushed some work on knot-resolver
1.5.3 to salsa, but haven't tagged or uploaded the package to unstable
yet.
is there a reason for not tagging or uploading?
Also, i note your master-backports branch, which says in it "This is a
branch to base all backports from" (see commit
014377adb8a18ffb2ee126873b9e0d2b440a3ea1). i've been making
stretch-backports releases from the stretch-backports branch, which has
much less divergence from master. Furthermore, the master-backports
branch explicitly keeps the stricter build-dep on libknot-dev, which
requires that the kresd backport depends on the knot backport, though
upstream really only needs the version in debian stable. (we discussed
this point back in December too, and i think the conclusion then was
that the stricter b-d wasn't necessary for stretch-backports).
I'd like to continue making stretch-backports releases that track master
closely where possible while not requiring knot-resolver's backport to
depend on the knot backport until that becomes a strict requirement from
upstream. Is there a reason that we need to base stretch-backports on
the master-backports branch? I have no objections to a master-backports
branch that targets ancient distros (oldstable, debian and ubuntu LTS)
for those who want to maintain those distros, but i'm concerned that
"base all backports from" means that stretch-backports will diverge more
than necessary from unstable.
