I would change 1 to 0, as many(?) systems have no plip1. E.g., at
$ grep plip1 /usr/share/doc/HOWTO/en-html/PLIP-Install-HOWTO-1.html
ifconfig plip1 192.168.0.1  pointopoint  192.168.0.2 \
route add -host 192.168.0.2 dev plip1 # if the route is not present

Also maybe use modprobe instead of insmod. Maybe installing plip gets
the others too.

Maybe /proc/parport/0/hardware is elsewhere now?
# find /sys /proc -name parport
/sys/module/parport
/proc/sys/dev/parport
