Hi all,

Sorry for the delay in mailing the list since I took over maintainership
of Drupal, things have been very busy.

The main issue has been another security update for Drupal. It's waiting
review, and should be released soon.

So, a quick overview of what I'd like to see happen.

1. Maintainership
Drupal is a fairly large system, and I think it lends itself well to
being collaboratively maintianed. So, I propose that the official
maintainer is the mailing list :)

2. Upgrade paths
This is fairly interesting in Drupal's case. For more info on this, and
generally, see http://drupal.org/node/65922
So, I'm going to take the previous maintainer's advice:
Create separate versions for major upstream releases: drupal4.5,
drupal4.6, drupal4.7. Don't waste time trying to do automatic
database updates -- that Simply Won't Work.

3. Package versions
Drupal 4.5 has been officially dropped from support, and most new work
is going into 4.7+
I would like to get 4.7 packaged and into etch ASAP, especially as 4.5
isn't supported under PHP5.

What needs to be done now:
Create a 4.7 package :)
I've created pkg-drupal-commits at lists.alioth.debian.org [0] for commits
to subversion, and I'd liek to carry on using subversion for package
maintainance.

Any comments?
Neil
