Hi,
I have a patch ready for dspam.conf.in:
* Corrected the path to the mysql server socket, so that it matches the
one used by the debian mysql package
* Change "opt out" to "opt in"
Dspam is set to "train everything" by default. At uni | made the
experience, that users do not realize, that, if they don't complain
about a spam mail, it will be learned a sinnocent, and they get their
dictionary ruined. With the opt in setting, users have to enable dpsam
in the webfrontend (or using dspam_admin) explicitly, so the training
starts, when they already have concerned themselves with the way the
filter works (hopefully)
* spamAction is set to "tag" instead "quarantaine". by default
Users meight be very surprised, when part of their mail doesn't end up
in ther mailbox. They might not even know, where to look for it. So
IMHO it is better, to let users explicitly activate the quarantaine.
this is a bit of a pessimistic view, but I made the experience, that it
is justified. Dspam is especially interesting for large mail servers,
and those usually have lots of unexperienced users.
Comments?
