That's right ( http://willem.engen.nl/debian/ ). I started building
packages for every dssi plugin I could find, and planned to submit
them to Debian via pkg-dssi on Alioth (ITP's being vst(321463),
xsynth(321464), fluidsynth(321465), ll-scope(321468), hexter(321469),
sineshaper(321488), but there are more plugins). But now I don't
really have the time anymore; I hope somewhere later this year.

But in the meanwhile there has been some porting activity in the
Ubuntustudio domain (e.g. see http://revu.tauware.de/ ), it might be
worthwhile to keep an eye on them too.

As for the user recognizing a package is a dssi-plugin, I adopted the
scheme found in other plugin-architectures (vdr-plugin-*
adduser-plugin-* gstreamer0.8-* libmultisync-plugin* xfce4-*-plugin)
and prepended every package with "dssi-plugin-".
