thank you for your answers.

The updated euca2ools package for Debian is ready, but while trying to test it
I came to remember why I already lost momentum last year on the same task.

euca2ools 1.3.1 depends on M2Crypto 0.20.2 or higher, which is not yet
available in Deban.

I will try to get this corrected, and then resume the work on euca2ools…
