sadly my knowledge of Java is probably way less than Charles', so I'm
not sure I can help here in the code. One option though would be to try
it out and see if we can isolate the problem.

Yes. Upstream (ahem :)) has been working on the next version (3). Rudy,
Charles and Steffen have been working on new packages (Rudy in particular).
