Hi, this is to track the workaround to a bug with the addressbook
settings not properly handled by evolution, which tend to render the
LDAP addressbooks unaccessible.
I have a LDAP server which requires simple authentication (works well
with ldapsearch -x).
Evolution is not able to connect to it if the addressbook preferences
are defined using the "Use secure connection" setting to "whenever
possible".
I would assume that a first try is made and then only if it fails, it
will default to no authentication.
But it fails until I change the setting to "never".
Oh, and also until evolution-data-server is restarted (for the settings to
be activated)
