I've got the dependency problems fixed. mplayer had a dependency that conflicted with evolution's
dependency, so I removed mplayer. Also, mail-notification was continuing to depend on
evolution-2.4, so I removed that too.
Even with the dependency problems fixed, I still get the same type of behavior.

Evo developers have not responded yet. What does GSlice refer to anyway? Is it something under
libsoup2.2-8?
