[Evolution] smtp error after upgrading to debian etch

i'am not sure if this is the right place to answer this question.

Here is my problem. I have a real strange behaviour of the evolution package 2.6.2-3 from debian testing (etch). After upgrading from debian stable (sarge) i could not send mails about smtp any more. pop is working. 
The error message i get so far is realy short. A dialog window appears which notes that evolution is not possible to connect to my smtp host. When i try to connect to the smtp host on command line everything works as expected.

What could be the reason for the smtp error?
Is there a way to get more information about what is going on behind the scenes?
syslog and message log contains not entry about this
I tried to start evolution with 'CAMEL_DEBUG=1 evolution' to get futher debugging messages.
I get back back the following messages but i'am unsure if this has something to do with my problem

libnm_glib_nm_state_cb: dbus returned an error.
  (org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown) The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files

Find attached the installed packages which has something to do with evolution and dbus.

Any hints are highly appreciated
