Oops, it seems I have libedataserver1.2-7 version 1.8.2-2 installed--I
just blindly downloaded & installed the package files you listed in your
original email :)

Downloading _just_ libedataserver1.2-7 causes another crash, backtrace
following in case it's relevant to anything. I then downgraded _all_ of
e-d-s' binary packages to version 1.8.2-1, and Evolution started working
again--thanks :)
