Message filters are not automatically applied to incoming messages 
despite the preference setting.

There's a fix for it, but it triggers a regression elsewhere that would 
make Evolution crash (some ressource used with race conditions) . The 
regression is fixed in gnome bugzilla bug 420503:

URLs of the two patches to apply (for the first ChangeLog won't apply 
cleanly, and for the second please use --ignore-whitespace) taken from

I applied them today and it fixed the issue.

I hope you will add them (or an upstream version having them will be 
made available?).
