Subject: evolution: behaviour of space bar, fonts for message list, sorting options, date display
Package: evolution
Version: 2.22.3.1-1
Severity: wishlist

When reading mails with every mail displayed in its own window, the space
bar doesn't bring up the next message. (It can only be used to scroll the
text inside that window.) "Magic spacebar" in preferences is enabled, and
according to [1], the magic spacebar should bring up the next unread
message, but it doesn't.
However, different from the behaviour described on [1], when reading mailing
lists (i. e. when having the message list display set to "Group by
threads"), I would prefer that using the space bar would stay within the
thread I'm currently reading, rather than continuing to other unread mail.
On the last message in a thread, it should close the message display window
so that I can choose the next thread I'm interested in to read through.
Since other users might prefer that the space bar brings up new messages,
the behaviour of the space bar might have to be configurable in detail.
It doesn't seem to be possible to change the (size of) the font used for
the message list (other than using gnome preferences or the like, which would
change other fonts as well). I would like to be able to use a smaller font for
the message list only, configurable per folder. --- BTW, the sorting
options should also be per folder so that, for example, mailing lists can be
set to be grouped by threads while other folders can be sorted by date without
having to switch that every time manually when changing to another folder. And
in the message list, I'm seeing the date displayed as, for example,
"Today, 11:13 AM" and as "7:24 PM", as if "7:24 PM" wasn't "Today" anymore.
Both mails are from "Today", though:
"Date: Wed, 5 Nov 2008 09:13:41 -0800 (11:13 CST)" is displayed as "Today, 11:13 AM"
"Date: Wed, 5 Nov 2008 20:24:44 -0500 (19:24 CST): is displayed as "7:24 PM"
Now I guess "20:24:44 -0500" should be displayed as "Tomorrow" ...
