Hmmm, installing evolution-data-server in my sid amd64 schroot yields
the same as yours (ie unaffected). I was sure I checked sid when I first
discovered this.
With 2.30.3-1ubuntu2 from Maverick[1], I have:
$ ls -l /usr/lib/evolution/camel-lock-helper-1.2
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 14640 Sep 6 05:38 /usr/lib/evolution/camel-lock-helper-1.2
That is the version that prompted my patch in Ubuntu. I wonder why that
didn't work in Ubuntu? I see that debhelper 8.0.0ubuntu1 was installed
by looking at the buildlog[2].
I then rebuilt 2.30.3-2ubuntu1 and changed debian/rules back to:
DEB_FIXPERMS_EXCLUDE_evolution-data-server += usr/lib/evolution/camel-lock-helper*
and it has the group and sgid stripped again. Weird. My guess is there
is some dependency that is too loose somewhere (not necessarily with
e-d-s).
