dear all,

when he last visited, michael hanke planted the idea in my 
head that public mailing lists are good. after watching how 
this one does such a nice job of disseminating information 
and banter, i was filled with a jealous rage, and determined 
to create my own

i imagine that much of the discussion will focus around our 
Matlab-based MVPA toolbox, but i very much hope that it will 
also range further afield than that into more general 
discussions of MVPA, machine learning, programming and fMRI 
analysis. we'd be glad to benefit from your expertise, 
enthusiasm, or even your evangelism :) or you can just 
browse the archives whenever the urge strikes you.

p.s. i considered calling it mvpa-matlab@, rather than the 
more generic mvpa-toolbox@, but i didn't want to discourage 
people from asking questions that weren't specifically about 
matlab. i hope you'll forgive the somewhat generic name.
