Hi All,

I need to install Pynifti for Python26 on a Windows XP machine. I therefore need to compile from source. I've tried following the installation instructions on the "Installation" webpage, but after much effort am still having difficulties. Specifically, I am getting the error:

Found executable C:\Software\MinGW\bin\g++.exe
C:\Software\MinGW\bin\..\lib\gcc\mingw32\3.4.5\..\..\..\..\mingw32\bin\ld.exe: c
annot find -lz
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
error: Command "g++ -mno-cygwin -shared build\temp.win32-2.6\Release\build\src.w
in32-2.6\nifti\clib_wrap.o -Lbuild\nifticlibs -LC:\Software\Python26\libs -LC:\S
oftware\Python26\PCbuild -lniftiio -lznz -lz -lpython26 -lmsvcr90 -o build\lib.w
in32-2.6\nifti\_clib.pyd --Wl,--no-undefined" failed with exit status 1
mingw32-make: *** [build-stamp] Error 1

What have I done wrong? Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry for the rather basic post.

Regards

Gavin
