I thought I was trying to do that. Now, I'm a little lost...
In fact, I got the 389-ds-base-1.2.1 sources, and this thread is about 
debianizing that package version.

Well, I'll try this weekend with the debianization of the 
389-ds-base-1.2.1 sources, but with your control files and rules, I mean 
the 4. *fedora-directory-server* item in the URL: 
http://wiki.debian.org/Teams/DebianFDSPackaging .

I'll let you know my findings.

Note: I opened *Bug 506206* 
<https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=506206> - libslapd is not 
linked with -lrt in the 389 project,
