Yes, 389 should be doable, but keep in mind that it has a number of
packages :) I did manage to push it to Ubuntu 12.04 though, so it's
tested already. This is the list of packages and their (NEW)
dependencies (if any, libldap seems to be current enough now, though):

--- 389 DS

libmozilla-ldap-perl:
  libldap2-dev (>= 2.4.28)

svrcore:

389-ds-base:
  libldap2-dev (>= 2.4.28)
  libmozilla-ldap-perl
  libsvrcore-dev (svrcore)

--- 389 DS Admin

389-adminutil:
  libldap2-dev (>= 2.4.28)

libapache2-mod-nss:

389-admin:
  libldap2-dev (>= 2.4.28)
  libapache2-mod-nss
  libmozilla-ldap-perl
  libadminutil-dev (389-adminutil)
  389-ds-base-dev (389-ds-base)

--- 389 DS Console

ldapjdk (libldap-java):
jss (libjss-java):

idm-console-framework:
  libldap-java (ldapjdk)

389-admin-console:
  libjss-java (jss)
  libldap-java (ldapjdk)
  libidm-console-framework-java (idm-console-framework)
  389-admin

389-ds-console:
  libidm-console-framework-java (idm-console-framework)
  389-admin

389-console:
  libidm-console-framework-java (idm-console-framework)
  libjss-java (jss)

-- 389 DS Gateway

389-dsgw:
  libadminutil
  libsvrcore-dev
  libldap2-dev (>= 2.4.28)
  389-admin
  libmozilla-ldap-perl

389-ds-base git now has 1.2.10.4, there is 1.2.10.11 and 1.2.11.5
available. Bumping to 1.2.10.11 would be trivial, 1.2.11.x would need
some testing and perhaps slight changes to the packaging.

389-ds-admin git has now 1.1.27, and there is 1.1.30 available including
trivial fixes. I've pushed these changes now.

There are no other upstream releases available. So, until we decide what
to do with 389-ds-base, maybe it would be best to start reviewing the
"leaf" packages? If you can commit to pkg-f-d-m git, feel free to do so,
or ping me on irc (tjaalton) if there's something you'd like to discuss :)
