[pkg-fetchmail-maint] Bug#404740: Log-file is not written,
after it has been rotated (daemon-mode)

Package: fetchmail
Version: 6.3.6~rc3-1
Severity: important

I will try to explain:
fetchmail runs in daemon-mode with the following (relevant) options in
/etc/fetchmailrc:
set logfile /var/log/fetchmail
set no syslog
So let's say, I start fetchmail in daemon mode (user: fetchmail):
/etc/init.d/fetchmail start
Now my /var/log/fetchmail(.1.gz) log at last says:
fetchmail: Mi 27 Dez 2006 20:19:49 CET: schlafe 1800 Sekunden lang
(sleeping at ... for the non-German readers)
Then the file has been rotated and a new /var/log/fetchmail was created.
But fetchmail did not write to the new file. The file stayed empty until
the daemon was restarted, although there were several fetchmail runs
during the log-rotation and the daemon restart.
I observed this issue several times. Please tell me, if you need further
information. I will try to provide them.
Regards, Daniel
