Package: fetchmail
Version: 6.3.1-2
Severity: normal

I recently updated from 6.2.5.4 to this version of fetchmail and noticed
that I was no longer able to stop the systemwide fetchmail with
/etc/init.d/fetchmail stop.
Looking at the init script I noticed that the definition of the PIDFILE
had changed.

Old Version:
PIDFILE="`getent passwd $USER | awk -F: '{ print $6 }'`/.fetchmail.pid"

New Version:
PIDFILE="/var/run/fetchmail.pid"

Since the daemon is running under the fetchmail account NO
/var/run/fetchmail.pid file gets written and s-s-d cannot find the
correct pidfile.
Changing the definition to the one in the old version made it work
again.

Kind regards,
Michael Guntsche

 fetchmailconf - fetchmail configurator

Changes:
 fetchmail (6.3.1-4) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   [ Nico Golde ]
   * Fixed broken symlink (Closes: #348134).
   * removed gzip of fetchmailconf.1 cause we should ignore it,
     it points to a wrong fetchmail manpage so we set a symlink
     manually.
 .
   [ Hector Garcia ]
   * Reverted pidfile location (Closes: #348037).
   * Removed #!/usr/bin/env python from fetchmailconf.py since it
     is used as a lib not as a script. New dpatch file.
