But documented, quoting from the manual page:

  --idle (since 6.3.3)
    (Keyword:  idle,  since before 6.0.0) Enable IDLE use (effective
    only with IMAP). Note that this works with only one folder at  a
    given  time.  [...]


Should I change the wording? If so, how?

Currently impossible. Fetchmail is single-threaded and does not
otherwise multiplex connections. It would require major changes to 
the fetchmail structure so that 6.3.X will not see such changes.
