Confirmed; now only affects i386, not amd64.

strace contains

access("/usr/lib/1-linux-gnu/osgPlugins-3.2.1/osgdb_png.so", F_OK) = -1 
ENOENT (No such file or directory)

(note 1 instead of i386) further suggesting that this is similar to #763816.

(The "crash at compare (__str=..., this=<optimized out>)
     at /usr/include/c++/4.9/bits/basic_string.h:2246 after some time" 
in message #40 is almost certainly unrelated: please file a separate bug 
if you wish to discuss that further.)
