Thanks. I finally got around to commit this to the git repo on alioth
and upload updated versions of flightgear and flightgear-data.
Note that I split the /tmp/*.xml patch into two, so each file still
represents an upstream commit.

I like the ~exp extension to mark revisions for experimental. And I
think it's somewhat common practice. So I numbered it 3.4.0-1~exp1,
which should still sort after 3.4.0ubuntu1.
Other than that, I think I committed things as you proposed.
