next to follow should be (unless I am completely mistaken)
$ dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -uc
....
and your newly baked packages are in ../
-us and -uc are not to try to sign sources and changes. Since you're
just testing the packaging you probably don't need signing.
