After reading the diff, I have the following to say:
1) Great work! I can really see now firebird2-1.5.2 uploaded to unstable
really soon.
2) I am going to add my dpatch incorporation work to ease further packaging.
3) There are a couple of things I am not sure about:
a) Shouldn't the xinet service file be named firebird2, instead of firebird?
b) amd64 support - my intention was to continue using type-handling:
i.e. use "type-handling i386,amd64 any" in debian/rules, instead of
manually adding "amd64" to Arch of each package. Objections?
c) -examples package does not need a .preinst (adding firebird user
account) and .postrm (removing it). Does it?
d) source.lintian-overrides.
- I have a plan for fixing "maintainer-script-lacks-debhelper-token
debian/firebird2-super-server.postinst" by some rework of the postinst
script;
- I see no problem for letting lintian complain about outdated
autotools-helper-file.
- I have a plan for overriding some other lintian warnings that come
from the nature of firebird - like security.fdb being a conffile.
The above are things I aim at. I'll make a package available in a couple
of days.
Any comments/suggestions/rants about my intentions are welcome.
