[Pkg-firebird-general] Bug#272380: firebird2-super-server and hosts file(s)

Hi, Daniel,

I finally succeeded in reproducing the problem you describe and I think I've
found the reason.

Firebird-SS uses /etc/hosts.equuiv for some form of authentication and needs
the primary host name there.

I've got your symptoms when I've changed the primary host name in /etc/hosts from

127.0.0.1	localhost localhost.localdomain

to

127.0.0.1	debian.example.org localhost localhost.localdomain

Addind debian.example.org to /etc/hosts.equiv solved the problem.

Does this make any sense to your situation?
