The list of outstanding bugs for firebird packages is on

As you can see, the two remaining bugs are rather non-trivial and are
actually upstream limitations. Well, I've heard firebird running on
powerpc, but lack of available powerpc machine is preventing me from
doing the research in this direction. There is also an effort by
Fabrice Aeschbacher for porting firebird 1.5.3 to mipsel architecture.
This all sounds too complicated perhaps. Don't worry it is the same
for me :)

To answer your question, there are two fields where firebird packages
need help.

First one is immediate - install firebird2[1] packages from the
unstable distribution and test them with some real (or semi-real)
load. Report bugs to the bug tracking system[2].

Second is due in several weeks - I am preparing packages of the 2.0
branch of firebird that will need testing from as much people as I can
convince to try them. This process is slowed down by my limited spare
time and me having to complete my New Maintainer application these
days/weeks. When 2.0 packages become ready, I'll announce them in this
list.
