It depends how adventurous you feel :)

There are no 2.0 packages even for sid. I have half-baked ones in
pkg-firebird svn repository. Still have small problems and need to be
updated to 2.0-release.

Do you volunteer to be a beta-tester? :)
If so I can try to prepare a sarge backport within a week.
